Partial success

Today I tried something new.. I prevented Oscar from having long naps during the day in an effort to reset his body clock and make him sleep longer at night time..

Check back for an update tomorrow and see if it worked!

Feel free to share your story on how you manage to get your babies to sleep on time! I’m keen to find out the secret!

  1. I also use Baby Tracker. My baby still wakes between 2 and 4 times per night to nurse so I don’t know if I’m the best one to give you advice but here I am xD He’s 9.5 months old and has two day naps, one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. They depend a bit on what time he woke up, for example today he woke up at 7 which is early for him (he normally wakes up at 8 or 8:30). His naps are usually not longer than 1.5 hours and he sleeps around 13 or 13.5 hours a day. He goes to sleep at 9-9:30 and is asleep at 10 latest.

RE the food, milk is their main nutrition until they are 1. Has he never eaten many solids? If he dislikes being spoon fed you can try putting small pieces of food for him to take. My baby is much more interested in food when he can touch it. But he’s also a skinny boy, 30th percentile. Which I don’t think is a bad thing considering how many obese babies there are here xD

    • Thanks for your comment! Yeah, he has tried solids many times but he has only eaten a ‘full meal’ a few times. He usually just wants to try stuff and then has a bite or two then goes off to play again. Every time we are eating, he’s really interested and starts going crazy to try some. When we let him, he often just has a mouthful and goes away again to play.

You’ve done well to get him to sleep so early! Oscar just won’t sleep at a reasonable time. He has one or two naps per day, usually around midday and again in the afternoon about 4pm. His naps are also about 1.5-2 hours. At 2 hours, I start to make an effort to get him to wake up because I know what it’ll be like at night if not..

Oscar is better being fed with a spoon.. If we give him the food, he just smears it all over the floor or his clothes.. He loves to play with it, but he hardly ever eats from his hands – unless it’s NOT food lol. If it’s paper, phone, spoon, or anything else – he puts it in his mouth, but just not food. So strange lol.
