Asking for a friend. 🙃

Is it more useful to learn Chinese, or to know English, since most young people in China nowadays speak English too..

Since coming back to the UK I’ve been looking at jobs involving China and let’s just say in Nottingham, there’s not a lot going on. I seem to find that there are way more jobs in China, looking for people who speak English, to go abroad and do business. Rather than the other way around.

Do any of you have experience in this?

There is plenty of demand for outsiders to go to China, and for Chinese people to go abroad, but the common theme is that they all need to speak English rather than Chinese.

I’d love to put my Chinese skills to work, but, especially in Nottingham, there just doesn’t seem to be much demand.

你们觉得呢?是不是这样的?许多公司要求你会说英语但是不要求外国人会说中文。
