If I won the lottery I’d buy property.

Of course somewhere amazing for myself, but I’d also buy some shiny new houses and offer them to young families. I’d want to make a difference to these people’s lives and find a way for the houses to be put into some kind of trust whereby they’ll always be owned by me, and the rent would be 10% of the going salary of the people who move there. This would make them extremely affordable and give the tenants a real chance to save for their own place while also having a nice environment to raise their family.

The reason I’d want to always own the houses is because I think it’s important to make a difference without getting rid of my new-found-wealth. I’d want to help as many people as I could while still clinging on to my new found status. Is that selfish?
