Well today was the day I thought we’d all been waiting for. Oscar finally went to the cinema!! we went to the Showcase de Lux in Nottingham. It was so nice inside! Not sure if they’ve upgraded it or if it’s just been that long since I last went to the cinema, but I thought it was really nice.

I’d already bought our tickets online and my large popcorn and Coke with a small popcorn for Oscar.

Note to self: next time do NOT get a ‘small’ popcorn for Oscar! It was way too big for him. Good effort though. He did get through most of it. I finished my large portion without a problem, except for my conscience telling me I’m a pig.

We got there a little early, so I could take a pic or two before the crowds arrived. Nice seats aren’t they? Reclinable with separate back and leg support controls.

So, why did I start this by saying he needs to wait another year? Well. That’s because all I could hear after about 20 minutes was ‘It’s taking so long! I want to go home! I want to play! Why’s it taking so long?’ OMG.

He definitely enjoyed the movie, based on the loud laughter at all of the funny scenes. But it was too long for this 5 year old to sit in one spot. He just couldn’t do it.

The first time I went to the cinema, I was 7 or 8. Maybe that’s the right age? Well, it was definitely a good experience for him. But it’ll take a lot more persuading before I take him again any time soon.
