In 2024, what internet speed do you think is the bare minimum for working from home while Netflix or YouTube is on in the other room?

My friend in Romania just sent me a screen shot of their internet speed and it was mind blowing considering it’s at their parent’s home and it’s only used for regular browsing and nothing more.

So I thought I’d have a look and see what my internet speed is. The results are in and they’re not pretty.

My internet speed is so slow in comparison but yet I haven’t noticed any lag or waiting times when I want to open anything online. We consistently have Netflix, YouTube and an internet TV all running at the same time while I’m working from home in and out of zoom calls. I’ve never noticed any lag or any issues.

Am I going crazy? I thought gigabit speed was for that kind of thing and I’d forgotten what speed I had at home.

Anyway, what do you think? What’s your experience? Anyone got any home internet speeds slower than mine and actually noticing they can’t do anything quickly online?
