Happy Chinese New Year everyone! 新年快乐，恭喜发财！

Yesterday we gave both Casey and Oscar their lucky money (红包🧧) I don’t think we did this last year so this year we made sure we remembered. We want them to be familiar with their Chinese traditions as well as the traditions here in the UK.

Oscar asked if he could spend some of his lucky money on the arcade in town. So we agreed 👍

He is obsessed with the claw machine!

He played a few other games as well.

He won 2 teddies from the claw machines and some tokens for next time on the other games.

Casey enjoyed watching. One day he’ll join in with the fun and games too.

The place is called Funstation and it’s in The Cornerhouse in Nottingham. We spent £15 this time. We always stick to a budget when we go to places like this. We don’t want to encourage Oscar to ‘lose it all’. We just want him to be able to spend some and have fun, then leave without it being an issue.

It wasn’t a particularly nice day outside. Drizzle, cold, wind, just the worst kind of day to be outside really lol.

Anyway that was how we spent the first day of the Chinese New Year. It’s the year of the dragon 🐉! Not sure if that’s good or bad, but it sounds good.
