At first I was so excited about AI and the benefits it would bring to us all. Automated everything. Smart everything. Use your mind to control things. Mind reading, or pattern recognition to perfection.

But now I’m not so sure.

Have you seen Sora? It’s by OpenAI the people who brought us ChatGPT not so long ago.

Watch this video, made completely with AI. How crazy is that?! Or any of the other videos on the official website for Sora.

Now think about ‘fake news’ and how it could be used. Imagine a school shoot out that never happened? Or a president being seen talking about selling nukes to an enemy? Or seeing your partner cheating on you.. But none of it ever happened.

Before, you might have been able to say you can tell it’s a fake. Now, I’m not so sure. And the worst or best part about this?

It’s only the beginning.

I don’t care what they say about safeguarding or morals or moderation of the system – once it’s out there, someone will make a copy, a new version, an evil version. The internet just probably started the demise of humanity.

Think about it. Computers that can think for themselves, make things that never existed, control machines, make machines, learn…? We’re living in a sci-fi movie and still thinking it’s ’not possible’ for any of what I just wrote to actually happen.
