What are three objects you couldn’t live without?

My phone

I think the phone, more specifically the iPhone is the greatest invention humans have ever created. Sure there are other great inventions that came before it, but to bring all of this together in my pocket is just amazing. Life would be depressing without my phone.

My camera

I love my camera. I love capturing moments and revisiting them. I store my photos in the cloud. Some people say once you stop printing them out you just forget about them. I disagree.

I have thousands of photos and videos taken over the years since I got my first digital camera. I can access them any time I like without looking around for photo albums that can get lost or damaged.

The best part about keeping all my photos organised like this in date order is… When I’m old and start going crazy, I can look back at my life bit by bit and look at that guy who looked like he enjoyed his life. Even if I don’t remember who this guy is. Without my camera, none of this would be possible.

I don’t even mind which camera it is that I use. Just as long as it’s ‘my’ camera.

My computer

Without my computer I’d be just another guy who has lived in the same place all his life and has no stories. I’d be that guy who only knew about what happened on my street and nothing more. The guy who thought the most important thing that happened this year was that neighbour who had the police called on him for playing music too loud.

My computer has been my window to the world. It’s opened up my eyes to what is happening all around the world. It made me realise how tiny, insignificant and pointless the city I live in is in comparison to most other cities in the world.

Nothing against Nottingham, but it’s definitely not important on the world stage.

Without my computer, I don’t know if I’d have had the same curiosity to want to see things with my own eyes.

To taste the foods what I’ve seen other people write about. To try and live the life of people I’ve seen online. To see if I can visit that place in that movie I watched totally legally on a streaming website. To see if New York really could possibly have that many skyscrapers.

And then to share my experiences and pass it on to another person like myself who is watching the world through someone else’s eyes. I love to share what I’ve experienced. To write and edit. To imagine and make it a reality.

My computer has taught me so much about life, the world, finances and so much more. I’d be lost without it.
