Day 2 was pretty decent.
We had breakfast at the hotel, which wasn’t bad. we almost missed it since we woke up at just after 9 this morning!
The breakfast times are 8:00-10:00..

Casey enjoyed his cheese.. (and that’s about all)

Oscar scraped together and had a few bites to eat before giving up.

Then straight after breakfast we headed to the beach!

There was about a 15-20 minute walk from our hotel to the beach. Not bad to be honest.
Lots of shops and bars along the way.

No path to walk along so you have to be careful of the coaches and especially the rented ATVs. The ATVs in particular are a hazard, as they’re rented by tourists who whizz along at roller coaster speeds.
The good thing is they’re loud enough to hear from a mile away so you can’t be taken by surprise.

When we arrive at Laganas beach from our hotel, we’re greeted with a cramped narrow section of beach. The beach was completely filled with rented sun loungers and what felt like the entire population of Zante.
I didn’t take pictures of them since they were filled with people, but I’ll get some sly ones tomorrow.

I was standing in the water and felt like something small dropped on my foot. I assumed it was just a shell picked up by a wave or something. But then I felt it again and again.. There weren’t any floating shells. So when I looked closer, I saw FISH! In the shallow waters there were tiny little fish taking jabs at my feet!
We had to rush back to the hotel to get lunch. Lunch time is only 12:30-14:30, which is enough for normal people – but we were at the beach!
I had vegetable soup and…

This!

Also there was chocolate ice cream

After this, there was no time to rest with two restless children. So we went straight to the swimming pool!

Top tip: as soon as the sun starts to go down, the pool is freezing cold! It’s only warm when there’s direct sunlight, so I imagine this rule applies to cloudy days as well.
After the pool we washed and got ready for dinner. Feels like all we did was eat today, but we were so hungry.
Today we went out to eat. not sure I’ll do that again based on the prices.
Casey and Oscar got the kid’s meal. Look at how big Casey’s ‘kid’s pizza’ was!

The milkshake wasn’t part of the meal but it was also way too big for this boy.
I had a burger and Hillary had fish.

€100 for dinner! So… Yeah..
