Today was a scorcher in Zante!

It was 32 degrees, but also the clearest of skies so we got ALL the sun.

Started my day with the all you can eat breakfast buffet. The selection is standard for a European hotel I guess… But there isn’t a lot when it comes to bread and pastries.

Casey and Oscar demanded that we go to the beach immediately after breakfast. So guess where we went??

Yep, we walked to the beach! 🏖️

They didn’t really want to go in the sea, they just wanted to dig in the sand.

This beach was nice but it’s not one of the ‘nicer’ beaches here. So once our other friend arrives, we’ll be making a trip or two out to those more picturesque beaches.

The water is actually shallow for quite a way out. I’d say you could go out about 100m before the water gets to head height.

I was starving after the beach! So, the all you can eat buffet delivered once again. There’s always some decent amount of salad and ‘healthy’ options to balance out the pizza and chips.

After lunch we went to the pool area. I took Casey in with me and he loved every second of it. Oscar, not so much.

Oscar doesn’t particularly enjoy getting his head wet.. Strangely enough he enjoys splashing other people but is petrified of getting splashed by other people.

Hillary got sunburnt from about 30 mins of exposure without sun cream. I haven’t made that mistake. Luckily!

My Apple Watch 7 let me down big time! It’s supposed to be water proof but it’s dead! It was working when I got to the beach but stopped completely by the time I was heading back.

Can’t believe I’ve been let down by Apple!

I was even saying to Hillary it’s so strange that we buy waterproof cases for our phones even though they’re already waterproof. Well, let this be a lesson learned. Even if they say it’s waterproof, they’re probably lying!
